Inspired Win Over Latrobe: The Allderdice Boys Soccer team delivered an inspired performance against highly regarded Latrobe on Tuesday, securing a shutout victory. Senior keeper Josh Kotov and the back line were instrumental in stifling one of the WPIAL’s top goal scorers, while junior Ethan Voight-Cherna netted two goals, with fellow junior Luke Peña adding another towering header off a corner. In three games vs Brashear this year, the Dragons failed to surrender a set, winning 3 games 3-0.  After a blowout first game 25-14, the Bulls offered some resistance and even had a lead late in game 2.  The boys pulled it together and took the 2nd set 25-22.  The third was similar, but a dominant performance by a front line of Pavle Slepcev, Simon Adams and Skye'Zir Reeves put the game out of reach.  After it was tied 18-18, they took control and outscored the Bulls 7-2 down the stretch for a 25-20 victory.  Pavle led the team with 15 digs and 8 kills.  Sky with 6 assists and sophomore Mattias Allen with 10 assists.  The boys are on to face powerful Obama on Thursday at 3:00 for the Championship.

Logan Golle, Major Rainey, Skye'Zir Reeves, Azerick Jetter, Pavle Slepcev and Ma'ayan Kohai have never stepped onto the court of a city league basketball game and stepped off with a loss in hand.  A magical run of 46 wins in a row for this senior class came to a fitting end yesterday with a 44-37 win against Obama.  The Dragons claimed their 3rd City League Championship in a row.  Their Freshman season was cut short due to Covid, costing them a shot at the championship that season.   Pavle Slepcev stepped up when the team needed him the most, getting game MVP with 13 points and 14 rebounds  and 4 steals.  Logan Golle held the team together with 12 points, 6 boards, 4 steals.  PG1 stepped up and made the biggest play of the game with a beautiful, textbook charge in the final minute.  Lukas Stead was the unsung hero of the day, controlling the boards and not giving Obama any second chances, ripping down 15 rebounds and a timely buck
